Job Purpose
The primary goal of this server position is to ensure every guest at Buffalo Wild Wings has a unique and personalized dining experience. This is achieved by expertly presenting our diverse food and beverage options in a friendly, informative, and enthusiastic manner, making each guest feel valued and welcomed.
Responsibilities
As a Server at Buffalo Wild Wings, your responsibilities will include:
- Guest Engagement and Personalization: Reading your tables to understand guest preferences and create personalized experiences. Engage in genuine interactions and conversations, connecting with guests over sports events, promotions, and shared interests to foster a welcoming atmosphere.
- Participation in Quality Programs: Active participation in Company programs designed to enhance service quality, including Mystery Shop, GEM (Guest Experience Measurement), BARS ( beverage alcohol responsibility standards), and EcoSur (sustainability) programs to maintain our high standards.
- Responsible Alcohol Service: Adhering to the company’s BARS program, including the “Must ID anyone who looks under 40” policy. Verifying guest identification to ensure legal drinking age for alcohol consumption, promoting responsible alcohol service.
- Accurate Order Taking and Processing: Taking guest orders accurately, utilizing the Point of Sale (POS) system to input all orders and requests. This ensures precise inventory management and effective communication with the kitchen and bar staff.
- Exceptional Food and Beverage Service: Serving food and beverages to guests promptly and efficiently, ensuring an exceptional dining experience from order placement to delivery.
- Guest Satisfaction and Issue Resolution: Checking in with guests to ensure satisfaction with their meals, proactively anticipating needs and taking corrective actions to resolve any issues. Informing management of any significant guest concerns or complaints.
- Table Maintenance and Cleanliness: Removing used dishes and glassware from tables and bar areas, transporting them to the kitchen for cleaning. Bussing and resetting tables efficiently to prepare for new guests. Restocking table caddies and cleaning menus to maintain a presentable dining area.
- Server Station and Section Upkeep: Stocking the server station with necessary supplies and refilling ice bins to ensure smooth service operations. Maintaining cleanliness in your assigned section, including removing debris and spills from the floor.
- FOH (Front of House) Support Duties: Performing opening, closing, and ongoing FOH support duties as assigned to maintain operational cleanliness and efficiency, as outlined in the FOH Support Responsibilities.
- Adherence to Tipped Employee Policy: Understanding and adhering to the company policy for tipped employees, accurately clocking in and out for server and FOH support job codes as required for different tasks to ensure fair wage practices.
- Additional Responsibilities: Completing other duties as assigned by management, based on service, operational, or cleanliness needs. Pay rate will be determined based on the specific duties assigned outside of the standard server role.
Physical Demands
The physical demands of this server position include sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving frequently throughout your shifts. It is essential to communicate with your manager if you are asked to perform any tasks that exceed your physical capabilities.
