Mike Malmin Appointed as New Executive Director for Serve Wenatchee Valley

Serve Wenatchee Valley, a dedicated non-profit organization committed to supporting individuals and families in need throughout the region, has announced the appointment of Mike Malmin as its new Executive Director. Malmin, a long-time resident of the Pacific Northwest, is set to take over the leadership role starting April 1st.

Tom Nees, the current Executive Director at Serve Wenatchee, expressed his confidence in Malmin, highlighting his deep understanding of the Wenatchee area and its residents as a key advantage.

“Mike has been an integral part of the Wenatchee community for approximately twelve years,” Nees stated. “His initial role as pastor at the Wenatchee Church of the Nazarene provided him with valuable insights and connections within the valley. This pre-existing familiarity, coupled with his community involvement, makes him an ideal candidate to lead Serve Wenatchee forward.”

Nees further elaborated on Malmin’s diverse skill set, emphasizing his capabilities beyond community engagement.

“Mike’s experience extends to conflict resolution, honed through his interim work with churches navigating challenging situations. Additionally, his background in media will be invaluable in effectively communicating Serve Wenatchee’s mission and impact to the wider community. Crucially, he is a proven team builder with an inclusive approach, essential for galvanizing support and achieving meaningful outcomes for those we serve.”

Nees, who has dedicated nearly seven years to Serve Wenatchee, will transition to lead Common Ground Community Housing Trust, an organization established by Serve Wenatchee four years prior. This move signifies a continued commitment to community development and addressing housing needs within the Wenatchee Valley.
