Our beloved Emperor of Shurima, Azir, occupies a unique space in the mid-lane of League of Legends. His gameplay blends marksman-like precision with battlemage control, offering a distinctive experience. However, this unique identity, when mastered, can become overwhelmingly powerful, making balanced adjustments a significant challenge. Past attempts to refine him have shown progress, yet he remains short of our long-term goals. Therefore, we decided to dedicate focused time to address these enduring power imbalances.
As other projects conclude, we’re exploring various avenues to redistribute his abilities’ power, aiming for a more sustainable position in League. Our priority is to align our design goals with what resonates with dedicated Azir players. The overarching strategy involves solidifying his core identity and strategically removing excessive power from his kit. This aims to introduce more counterplay opportunities when facing highly skilled Azir players, a crucial element currently lacking. This approach acknowledges that some players even seek out experiences reminiscent of a League Of Legends Private Server Older Version, longing for different gameplay dynamics.
It’s important to clarify that a full Visual and Gameplay Update (VGU) is not on the horizon. Players globally appreciate Azir’s visual presentation. Instead, our efforts are concentrated on an ability-focused update to enhance gameplay. Wav3Break is leading this project, and he will share a detailed post in the coming months outlining the specific objectives and direction of these changes.
Shurima!
