What You’ll Do as an Applebee’s Server
As an Applebee’s Server, you are the face of our restaurant and a key part of the guest experience. You’ll be responsible for creating a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience for every guest from the moment they arrive until they leave. Your primary duties will include:
- Guest Interaction: Greeting guests with a warm and friendly demeanor, building rapport, and ensuring they feel valued and appreciated.
- Menu Expertise: Possessing a thorough knowledge of the Applebee’s menu to answer questions, provide recommendations, and guide guests in their selections.
- Order Taking & Processing: Accurately taking food and beverage orders, utilizing point-of-sale systems, and ensuring orders are transmitted correctly to the kitchen and bar.

- Physical Tasks: Must be able to safely reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 25 pounds.
- Transportation: Regularly transports plates, glasses, and baskets between the dining room, service bar, and kitchen (approximately 30 times per shift, depending on business flow).
- Communication: Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to both guests and staff.
- Hygiene and Safety: Ability to wear protective hand coverings and face coverings/masks throughout the entire shift and frequently wash hands with disinfectant soap. Ability to work with disinfectant cleaning supplies.
