How to Turn Off Proxy Server in Chrome: A Quick Guide

A proxy server acts as a go-between for your computer and the internet. It’s often used to mask your location and bypass restrictions to access websites. However, proxies don’t always provide the same level of privacy as a VPN. If you’re using a service like ExpressVPN, a separate proxy might not be necessary and could even interfere with your connection.

If you’re experiencing internet connectivity problems while using Chrome, it’s possible that a proxy server is enabled. Disabling it can often resolve these issues.

Note: If you are trying to access streaming services and encountering VPN or proxy detection errors, disabling your proxy might not solve the problem. For assistance with streaming service access while using a VPN, please contact the ExpressVPN Support Team.
