- Order Taking and Service: Taking food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently, answering menu questions knowledgeably, and offering recommendations. Serving food courses and alcoholic beverages with precision and care.
- Table Management: Setting tables meticulously according to event type and service standards, ensuring a clean and inviting dining environment. Maintaining cleanliness of work areas throughout your shift, including china, glassware, and server stations.
- Communication and Coordination: Effectively communicating with the kitchen staff regarding menu inquiries, wait times, special requests, dietary needs, and any potential issues. Relaying guest feedback to the kitchen and management team.
- Point of Sale (POS) Operations: Accurately recording orders and transactions in our MICROS system at the time of order. Presenting accurate checks to guests and processing payments efficiently.
- Teamwork and Collaboration: Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with all team members. Supporting colleagues to achieve common goals and contributing to a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Safety and Compliance: Following all company policies and safety and security procedures. Reporting any accidents, injuries, or unsafe work conditions to management. Ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
- End-of-Shift Responsibilities: Completing closing duties which include restocking server stations, turning off lights, and ensuring the readiness of the dining area for the next shift.
What We Are Looking For in a Breakfast Server
To thrive in this breakfast server position, you should possess:
- Experience: At least 1 year of related work experience in a food service or hospitality setting is preferred. Experience as a server is highly advantageous.
- Education: A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
- Customer Service Skills: Exceptional customer service and communication skills are essential. You should be able to speak clearly and professionally and interact positively with diverse guests.
- Physical Stamina: The role requires you to stand, walk, and move for extended periods. You should be able to lift and carry trays and objects up to 25 pounds regularly, and occasionally up to 50 pounds with assistance. The ability to move over various floor surfaces, including uneven or slippery areas, and navigate stairs is necessary.
- Attention to Detail: Accuracy in order taking and payment processing is crucial. You must be able to read and visually verify information in various formats.
