It is with immense sadness that we, the Uta No Prince-Sama Shining Live community, address the recent announcement from KLab regarding the discontinuation of the English (EN) and Chinese (CN) servers. As of October 25th, 2022, the heartbreaking news confirmed that service for both the EN and Live Cn Server versions of UtaPri Shining Live is scheduled to end completely by Christmas.
This decision has sent shockwaves through our dedicated community. For years, we have poured our hearts, time, and resources into UtaPri Shining Live, building extensive progress and cherishing the game as a constant source of joy. The impending shutdown means that all of our collective efforts, the excitement of events, and the financial investment we’ve made are now at risk of being lost.
Adding to the pain, Shining Live holds a unique position as the only localized game within the UtaPri franchise, serving as a vital global hub for fans. Its closure represents a significant blow to the international UtaPri community and its access to official content.
While we understand that server maintenance and operational costs are factors in such decisions, and we acknowledge the possibility that reversing this course may be difficult, we, as a passionate community, cannot stand idly by and watch our cherished game disappear. The memories, the friendships, and the dedication invested in the live cn server and EN versions are too significant to simply let fade away.
Therefore, we are launching a petition with a clear and hopeful objective: to request KLab to consider merging the EN and CN servers with the existing, actively maintained Japanese (JP) server. Our request is rooted in a desire to preserve our progress and community. We believe that integrating our accounts and providing text translations would be a viable solution. KLab has a precedent for this, having successfully merged servers for Love Live! in the past, demonstrating that such a transition is within their capabilities.
We now urgently appeal to all UtaPri fans, and anyone who stands in solidarity with our community, to sign this petition. Everything we have lovingly built within this game is now threatened. By uniting our voices and demonstrating the collective will of the live cn server and EN communities, we hope to persuade KLab to reconsider and offer us this crucial lifeline.
